Fri. P. M. [in pencil: June 25-/92]

I have come near the end of my paper if not of my rope - but this perhaps will tell you my beloved sister all that you will care to read. That I am much grieved to learn that you are suffering from two kinds of cold you must know. It has been cause for additional regret that Mt Vernon St is so far removed from Belmont that I c'ld not yesterday or to day inquire after y'r health - & so I am the more grateful for y'r bulletin unfavorable thought it be.

The cool weather is reviving me physically & spiritually - May its effect upon you be more apparent to observers & hope-inspiring to y'rself! My trunk is partly packed, & may be quite in the course of the coming week if you continue to think that we shall start on Sat. It looks too dubious to build many plans - so I shall try to live on the present with the future left out. I send you Maggie's letter though it may tell you only what you already know - Mary has written to ask Carrie if she may stay here 2 or 3 days on her

way to Shelburne on the 15th (I think)

Mary Snell has just started for home her sister Carrie remains for a longer trial of Belmont air & food.

As I offered to floor the kitchen & replace the windows, I don't see why you talk of sharing the expense. Neither can I see how 70 or 75 dollars Mr H's estimated cost of the windows & 20 dollars that was remitted on the first floor can amount now to 132.5[illegible] even though 6.36 be included. If you are convinced that it is "all right" I will stand open to conviction & pay the cost with a draft in my own name. I am sorry that Addy is also victimised.

I hope the Chicago correspondence will prove satisfactory - In a note that I rec'd from Miss W. 2 or 3 weeks ago she sent "dear love to Lady de Whitney & Lady de Manning."

I also hope that Mrs Brigham may find it in her way to call tomorrow at 92 & bring good news with the Hudson package to yr & Addy's loving S -

"Poor Graham"

Sat morning, Tell me of Addys & y'r own health

Letter from Sarah Whitney, to Anne Whitney, 1892 June 25
