Scrapbook of Frances Scudder which consists mainly of letters to her fiance and eventual husband, Samuel Hubbard Williams. The letters were written over a period of two years while Frances was a student at Wellesley College and Samuel was at Amherst College and later Yale University. Frances Scudder graduated in 1885 but returned to Wellesley for an additional year of music study. Letters mostly discuss the state of their relationship, and whether or not she will accept his marriage proposal. The first letter is from her father, the Rev. William Scudder, giving his blessing for the two to be married. Also included are several programs from music performances.
