Letter to her mother describing her work adapting a book into a play, dinner at Harvard, and a gift from Brent; and discussing logistics for her mother's upcoming visit.
10/8/34 [stationary heading] News from Wellesley College WELLESLEY COLLEGE PRESS BOARD Wellesley, Massachusetts Release Dear Mums - It’s a bit late, and I’m rather weary - having worked all afternoon & evening on my play, the scenario of which has to be in Tuesday - but just a note & a few minutes at least. Yes, Ah Wilderness was simply wonderful - the perfection of naturalness - the beauty of simplicity - I did enjoy it so much. Dinner at Harvard was fun too. I’ll tell you more details later - sumptous [mis-spelling: sumptuous] apt. - menus for dinner etc. And the surprise - a Russian peasant blouse of white linen with cross stitch embroidery of blue & tan - wasn’t [Page 2] that grand of the boy? Don’t know when I Shall wear it, but it was mighty sweet of him. ‘Scuse [mis-spelling: Excuse] any peanut butter you find in this - I ate crackers & the above to keep awake! Subtact [mis-spelling: Subtract] a bit of poetic license - but I’m beginning to be plunged into some work! The [illegible]ish players are tomorrow night, & it's practically required, for the drama courses so I’se goin’ [mis-spelling: I’m going]. They’re here at Wellesley thank goodness. So it still set for Friday? Arriving before or after lunch? We’ll have Crew either at 3:40 or 4:40 so don’t miss that - & you’ll get here before, won’t you. Tell Mum Mum hello for me - love to yourself - this letter is woefully inadequate - but - love just the same - Ginger
