10/17/34 [stationary heading] News from Wellesley College WELLESLEY COLLEGE PRESS BOARD Wellesley, Massachusetts Release Dearest Best - The sun is indeed shining brightly - beautifully - and most surprisingly, with, however, one shadow. Lee didn’t make a Society & I did. I can’t understand it, as neither of us made Agora! And T. Z. E. (Tau Zeta Epsilon, supposedly interested in music and art) was 3rd choice. Evidently I knew more people there, but it does seem strange, because I can’t at the moment think of more than 3, but I Suppose there must be. It’s a queer way they make out the preferences, very complicated, and on a percentage basis - but - I was going in to class today, somebody rushes in and pins a rose & a pin on me, and says to me that I’m in T. Z. E. (known as Tizzy.) So there’s just nothing to do about it. I haven’t let Lee see that I really [Page 2] am glad about it, because she did so want to make one - and it really is something queer - I know that Agora was for her, but something, somewhere went queerly off. Of course she can come over to the house just as much - but it’s not half as much fun as if she had made it too. We’re having a pledge dinner tonight at the Inn - and I’m afraid it is a little exciting. Excuse if I bubble over to you? My rose is a yellow one, & very lovely. Enclosed are the cards - thought you might enjoy sharing them - but will, you return ‘em for my scrapbook after you’ve digested it? I thought I’d write a little note to Mum Mum - so when you write, enclose them to her or not as you like, just as long as they get back to the fold. I loved your description of uncle. If, as he says, you don’t ever see him again, you certainly won’t forget him! Must fly to Scenery, Crew, & Verse speaking, an hour apiece - so - bye - but had to let you know pronto soon. Loving you more - Ginger
