Dear Dada:

I found the letter I
wrote you among my possessions
still.-- You see, although
I wrote you, I had neglected
to mail it.

I am still in
Canton; but am leaving for
home on S.S. Empress of
Russia next week.

Dr. Sun has been
elected Pres. of the Republic
by legal Parliament; and
hence there is much ex-
citement and enthusiasm
all over the country. I had
hoped to be able to stay over
for the inauguration; but
evidently cannot do so, as
I have received a frantic [page break]
telegram from home this
week to return. Wonder
What is up now? Anyway,
I am leaving for home as
Mother would be furious
if I stay away longer.

And so Au Revoir until
I reach Shanghai. I do not
know whether you've
written me as none of
my mail has been for-
warded.
